Preparation: Flight to Fort Lauderdale

Flight:
The Oasis of the Seas home port is Fort Lauderdale Everglades.  The Fort Lauderdale airport was a ten minute cab ride (roughly $13 per meter but I tipped $17).  The Miami airport is about an hour ride.  I highly recommend flying through FLL because it is less time with a squirmy toddler in a car.  We did not bring a car seat and just held our daughter on our lap.  We had no trouble getting a cab to take us.  And we did not have to haul our child seat everywhere.  However, you risk a ticket by not using a child seat to the risk is yours.

On our flight down we ha booked two seats in a row with a empty seat between us.  I choose near the back of the plane in hopes that we would get a free seat.

During the flight we used an infant seat belt. This seat belt from KidsFlySafe is awesome and totally worth the $75 if you can’t borrow one from a friend.  Alternatively I have seen postings on ebay where you can “rent” the seat belt.

Our flight landed at 9am so we had time kill at the airport.
